EVSD commenced operations following the conversion of the MSIFT Short Duration Income Portfolio mutual fund, an entity that contributed an initial asset base of $141.3 million. This ETF is designed to invest across a broad spectrum of fixed income securities, with a core objective of maintaining an average portfolio duration of three years or less. Its actively managed approach utilizes a proprietary investment strategy that integrates both top-down macroeconomic analysis and bottom-up security selection across diverse sectors. The advisor guides investment choices, including country, sector, and individual security exposures, by meticulously analyzing key valuation metrics such as real interest rate levels, yield curve dynamics, and credit-adjusted spreads. Additionally, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors may be incorporated into the decision-making process. While the fund has the flexibility to hold securities issued by foreign entities, including those in emerging markets, all such holdings are expected to be denominated exclusively in U.S. dollars. The advisor also has the option to use derivatives, like exchange-traded and over-the-counter options, strategically to achieve specific market exposures or to help mitigate portfolio risks.
