It's crucial to understand, however, that this approach inherently limits the upside appreciation potential of the underlying equity holdings. The ETF is meticulously designed to offer a consistent monthly income, alongside opportunities for capital growth. Net of expenses, it aims to track the performance of an index composed of diversified North American-listed gold mining companies (currently, the Mirae Asset North American Listed Gold Producers Index). Furthermore, it targets monthly distributions, sourced from both dividends and call option premiums. To effectively manage downside risk while simultaneously producing income, GLCC employs a dynamic covered call option writing program.
